An event is far more memorable when there is some themed catering. This is actually not too difficult to achieve these days; it is a simple matter to order food and appropriate décor on the internet and have it delivered on the day. Even a small celebration or an office luncheon can be quite fancy will a very modest budget.
One option is a Japanese themed party. The right food and a few appropriate decorations will make the event look quite elegant.
- Paper lanterns. Some have inbuilt LED lights, or solar power.
- Flying carp streamers – a windsock in the shape of an elongated fish.
- Sake liquor. Not traditionally eaten with sushi, but both Japanese and popular.
- Sake mugs are a little wooden box. A useful souvenir.
- Rice wine.
- A kimono wine cover.
- Chopsticks. Have these personalized with individual names, or with event you are celebrating. They ca have a case with a soup spoon.
- Folding paper or silk hand Fans. These can also be personalized.
- Wind chime.
- Parasols can be personalized. Good for an outdoor garden event.
- Some origami decorations
- Anything with an anime (Japanese cartoon) or Manga (Japanese comic) décor.
- Decorated bowls, with traditional Japanese art, or the anime/manga décor.
- Geisha dolls
Sushi is perhaps the first thing to think of when catering for a Japanese themed party. Have fresh sushi delivered to the office party or birthday event, add some decorations and enjoy the event with minimal troublesome preparation.
